Our new campaign, featuring models Gizele Oliveira and Leah Mohr, was shot on location in the back streets, balconies and beaches of Portugal by Australian photographer Emily Abay. The luminous but laidback beauty direction, brought to life by Hair & Makeup Artist Ania Milczarczyk, reflects the composed chic of our new season styling.
The feel for the collection, created by our Melbourne design team, is one overwhelmingly rich in the relaxed glamour of silk and linen, accentuated with the opulence of tortoiseshell and lurex, and teamed with free-spirited fabrications and finishes. The key shapes for the season are designed to draw all the focus to the waist, with self-belted dresses, wide-legged pants, and cropped set-dressing some of the styling must-haves. When it comes to colour, KOOKAÏ SS1819 pops with bold hues of emerald, red and yellow along with summery pastels, melon tones and classic whites.
Accessorising for Spring/Summer is fronted by oversized, embellished earrings, raffia and fringe detailing, and stand out red footwear. Gold-toned jewellery continues to top the essentials list, with layered necklaces and statement bangles confidently taking outfitting from a.m. to p.m.
As an early inspiration to get beach-ready, the new KOOKAÏ swim collection’s frills, ties and waist belts offer a point of difference to days spent sunning and swimming.
